The last time that I was in a college classroom was way back in 2007, and we all took notes by hand. Yes, there was that one guy in every class that had a laptop, but everyone hated him and thought he was a tool. My point is that we all know how to take notes with a pen and paper, even the youngest among us did it really recently (unless you were the laptop-toting tool in class), and there's no reason we can't do it law school. As much as I love my gchat, there's just no legitimate reason to complain about this policy. I’m a 3L that came straight to law school from college. It was more entertaining to be in the chat room than it was to listen to the professor. I always regret this but it's true.
